Boyce strives to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our team members. The award and scholarship aim to recognise excellence across the whole firm; all team members, no matter what level or location, are eligible.

Tony Quirk (TQ) Employee of the Year

This award is in honour of Tony Quirk, one of the youngest directors in the history of Boyce. Tony started with us in 1991 after graduating with a degree in accounting, he then qualified as a CA in 1992 while working in the Moree office. He transferred to our Dubbo office in 1995 and became a director in July 1997 at just 27 years of age.

During his time at Boyce, Tony upheld diligent care for his clients and team. His values serve as the foundation for judging the award. The five key areas the nominees are judged on are:

  1. Genuine care for clients
  2. Contribution to the social fabric of the organisation
  3. Professionalism in all dealings with clients
  4. Commitment to the values of the firm
  5. Meeting/Exceeding the requirements of their position

On the 5th of February 2005 at the age of 34, Tony passed away. He left behind his wife and baby son as well as an enduring memory of his commitment to the culture and social fabric of the firm. In his honour, Boyce brought in the TQ Employee of the Year Award, which aims to:

  • Reward excellence within the professional services field
  • Recognise that each team member’s contribution is valued no matter what role we play within the firm
  • Confirm the message that effort, commitment and loyalty are valued
  • Reinforces our commitment to strive to be an employer that values and acknowledges the contribution of all the team

Laureena Verrent Scholarship

This scholarship is in memory of Laureena Verrent who over 18 years at Boyce. Laureena worked her way up from Administration to Finance Manager, making significant contributions to the business along the way. Her commitment to the team and support to the business was highly admired. At the age of 38 after a short battle with cancer, Laureena passed away.

As Laureena was a highly valued member of the team, the winner of her scholarship will exude the following characteristics:

-          Have genuine care for the team

-          Be proud of their job and in the firm

-          Be supportive and innovative

-          Continually strives to do their best

The scholarship is open to all staff, and is self nominated.
