In a landmark appointment reflecting a quiet revolution in rural leadership, former politician, nurse and regional community advocate Bronnie Taylor has joined the board of regional financial and advisory firm Boyce.

The appointment marks the first board member from outside the firm’s traditional financial background, signalling a deliberate move towards genuine board diversity for one of the largest private professional services firms in regional Australia.

The appointment builds on Boyce’s commitment to building a team that reflects regional communities. Boyce has maintained an independent chair for more than 40 years, and has strong female representation across both board and shareholder levels.

The firm’s latest appointment reinforces its commitment to genuine board diversity and community-focused regional leadership.

Bronnie Taylor said she had long admired Boyce’s values, deep community roots, and meaningful work across rural and regional Australia.

“After life in politics, I was drawn to organisations that genuinely walk the talk when it comes to purpose, ethics, and impact in rural and regional communities,” Bronnie said.

“Boyce is leading by example, not because it has to, but because it believes in doing the right thing. That’s something I want to be part of. Boyce has long been part of so many regional communities, and I’m delighted to join that journey to ensure they’re here for generations to come.”

Boyce Managing Director Carmen Caldwell said Bronnie’s strong ties and passion to regional Australia made her the right fit to join our board to support Boyce’s growth strategy.

“Board diversity is about reflecting the people and communities we work in and are a part of,” Carmen said.

“The inclusion of a Non-Executive Director not directly linked to finance advice enhances governance by introducing an alternative viewpoint and fresh thinking.”
