Elizabeth Timmins Superannuation Strategist
Elizabeth Timmins has had a varied career including positions with the CSIRO, the NSW Department of Agriculture and as a grazier, before changing tack to join Boyce in 1994.
Having attained a Bachelor of Science through Sydney University, the change in Elizabeth’s career path led her to complete a second Bachelor degree in Business (Accounting/ Computing) through Charles Sturt University.
Elizabeth’s quest for knowledge has not diminished and she has attained a variety of post-graduate qualifications. Elizabeth is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and is a recognised SMSF Specialist Advisor through the SMSF Professionals’ Association of Australia).
Elizabeth initially started her career with Boyce as an accountant before moving into the superannuation team to manage the firm’s self managed super fund (SMSF) clients through the large scale changes to the regulatory system that occurred in the late 1990s.
Once this period of change was bedded down, Elizabeth focused her attention more on technical client matters, strategic planning and problem solving within SMSFs.
Elizabeth’s work as a superannuation strategist involves assisting clients to achieve their goals within the superannuation environment, whilst ensuring SMSFs operate within the regulatory framework.
Elizabeth’s proactive approach and extensive knowledge of superannuation ensures the firm’s SMSF clients have up to date information to assist them to access opportunities in regard to tax planning, structuring of investments, related party transactions and investments, borrowing within superannuation, estate planning and contribution and benefit planning. Elizabeth works closely with the directors of the firm to ensure a holistic approach to each client’s financial affairs is paramount.
As the SMSF environment has become more regulated, Elizabeth has gained the relevant qualifications to become licensed to provide financial advice more broadly to assist clients in managing their investments.
Elizabeth’s role is a challenging one but one in which she excels. Outside of work, Elizabeth’s life is just as busy. She likes to spend time on the family’s grazing property, skiing and motorbike touring.
