Carmen Caldwell - Managing Director
Carmen Caldwell is the Managing Director of Boyce Chartered Accountants, Australia's largest regional based accounting firm.
KNOWLEDGE
Carmen commenced her career in professional accounting in 1995. She completed a degree in Commerce from the University of Canberra, and after completing holiday work in the Cooma office, Carmen accepted a position with Boyce Chartered Accountants in Goulburn
Carmen completed her professional year or CA as it is now known, and was admitted as a member of the Institute in 2000.
As is characteristic, Carmen was quickly recognised as leadership material and was appointed as a Director of the firm in 2001.
INSIGHT
Carmen has extensive experience in dealing with retail, professional and service businesses. She is focused on ensuring clients develop quality internal systems which capture accurate information and allow timely management reporting.
Carmen is proactive in her approach; meeting regularly with clients and reviewing performance to ensure that their businesses grow and contribute to wealth creation goals. She also specialises in assisting clients who are considering new business ventures by assessing the value of the enterprise and undertaking due diligence.
EXPERIENCE
Together with Peter King, Carmen has been involved in the development and growth of the Goulburn office as well as being an active member of the Boyce tax focus group. This division of Boyce provides specialist advice on all taxation matters including assessing the most appropriate business structures for clients, having consideration for both the day to day impact of the recommended structure and the complicated taxation legislation.
Carmen was also closely involved with the establishment of the firm’s human resource division and is committed to the philosophy of “growing our own flock” through the Boyce Cadetship Program.
In 2012 Carmen was appointed as Finance Director on the firm’s Executive Committee.
Recently Carmen has been working to grow the firm’s client base in Sydney. She is enthusiastic about the opportunities for Boyce to expand further into the Sydney market but remain regionally-based.
Carmen, her husband and two children have lived in Goulburn since 1996.
In July 2019 Carmen was elected to the firm’s Executive Committee in the role of Managing Director.
