Peter King - Director
Peter is originally from the Southern Tablelands where his parents operated a merino sheep enterprise near Crookwell.
Peter maintained an interest in agriculture whilst at boarding school in Sydney and upon graduating he decided to embark on a career in Agribusiness.
Peter studied Commerce at the University of NSW graduating in 1985, then commenced work with the international accounting firm Ernst & Young, firstly based in Sydney and then later in Melbourne.
It was always Peter’s ambition to return to the country and work in agribusiness. Peter’s wife was originally from Nimmitabel and shared the same desire to live and work in the country.
Peter commenced with Michael Boyce & Co (as it was then known) in Dubbo in 1987. When the incumbent manager of the Dubbo branch left in 1989, Peter was appointed branch manager and then, in 1990, as a Director of the firm.
Peter viewed his move to Goulburn in 1996 as an exciting challenge and it meant moving “home” - something that was important to him.
Along with his fellow Boyce Director Carmen Caldwell and Associate Director Beth Hoskins, Peter has developed the Goulburn branch to a formidable size - now employing more than 20 people.
Peter’s speciality is in the grazing industry and he has been responsible for coordinating the annual Boyce farm comparative analysis study on the Southern Tablelands. Peter is also a licenced financial advisor with the firm’s financial services division.
Peter was appointed as the managing director of Boyce in April 2003 and served two terms in this role with distinction, before stepping down in March 2009.
