Jono Forrest - Director
Jonathan (Jono) joined the firm in July 1996 whilst completing his final year of study at the University of Sydney’s Orange campus.
Jono was raised on a mixed farming property near the Barossa Valley in South Australia and completed his secondary schooling in Adelaide. Following school, Jono was keen to pursue a career in agribusiness and spent four years working as a jackeroo and overseer for a family group on their properties in the Albury/Wagga Wagga area before attending University.
After gaining his degree and joining Boyce, Jono successfully completed his Professional Year to become a Chartered Accountant.
In July 2002 Jono was appointed as a Director of the firm and has continued to focus on helping clients to achieve their business and personal goals.
Jono has a passion for assisting clients with understanding the key drivers of their business through the firm’s management accounting approach, whilst also looking for opportunities for clients to grow their wealth. He also enjoys working with clients to plan and help achieve their succession and estate planning goals.
Jono and his team work with a diverse group of clients. They specialise in assisting grazing enterprises on the Monaro but also work with dairy farmers from the South Coast, local retailers, tourism businesses, professionals, tradespeople and other small and medium sized businesses.
Jono has been involved with the firm's Grazing Comparative Analysis and the development of benchmarking for dairy clients. He also plays an important role with the firm’s internal systems, standards, quality control and risk management.
In April 2009 Jono was elected to the firm’s Executive Committee and completed a six year term as Operations Director.
Jono is a representative on the Institute of Chartered Accountants Regional Australia Advisory Committee and is involved with a number of community groups in Cooma, including the Monaro Education Foundation.
Jono is a licensed financial advisor with Boyce Financial Services and is a member of the Australian Institute of Management and the Agribusiness Association of Australia.
Jono and family look forward to a long future with the local community, enjoying the wonderful things that the Monaro has to offer.
