Meet the team - Liz from Cooma

12 December 2019

Name: Liz Timmins

Role: Super Strategist and Financial Advisor

Liz has been with Boyce for just over 25 years and she contributes to the heart and soul of the Cooma office. Liz now works with Boyce Financial Services and remains involved in Superannuation and has guided Boyce staff and clients through the ever-changing industry. Liz has excellent client relationships built on her knowledge and her caring approach.

1.  What has your career with Boyce been like?

Very varied. I’ve worked in tax, management accounting, then many years in superannuation and now financial advice. I’ve spent time with a great variety of people – clients and work colleagues. Just over 25 years and no two days the same. It has been interesting and challenging.

2. What sparked your interest in a career with Boyce?

We wanted some off-farm income to give a bit of stability, and I thought work with Boyce would be interesting and give me skills I could use in our own business.

3. What do you love about your job?

Quite a few things – being able to be in an office when it's blowing a gale outside, bouncing ideas around and finding solutions, working with interesting people – our Boyce team, other professionals and clients, continually learning new things and adapting to change. Also the flexibility, I’ve worked 4 days a week for most of the time and I start early and finish early which suits me.

4. What do you love about living and working in Cooma?

I actually live about 10k out of Jindabyne. I love the mountains, the land and the landscape. We have such beautiful light and air. The trip to work is stunning. And Cooma is a good town, small enough to smile at everyone but big enough to have everything you need.

5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time outside of work hours?

Mostly doing things with my husband Marty - looking after our farm, physical work. Also skiing in the resort and backcountry, mountain bike riding, pretending I’m David Attenborough and motorbike riding (currently a Triumph Tiger).
