Country Education Foundation - an investment in the future of rural and regional Australia

10 June 2016

The Boyce culture is one of care, not just for our clients and our staff, but also for the communities in which we live and work.

As a way of formalising our commitment to ensuring we make a positive contribution, we established the Boyce Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

A central part of the Boyce CSR program is our partnership with the Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEFA). We have provided honorary accounting and advisory services to CEFA and some of its regional foundations since 2003. Many of our team also contribute to their local regional foundations via participation as committee members or donations of their time and skills to support fund raising activities like Goulburn’s “Art in the Woolshed” and the Monaro’s “Art on the Monaro”.

This wonderful organisation assists young people from rural and regional areas as they further their career and educational pursuits through the provision of financial assistance via a non academically based grant program. Grants awarded contribute to course or career related expenses including computers, text books and tools of trade.

“The support provided by CEFA makes a very important difference to the lives of young regional people” said Cooma Director and committee member of The Monaro Education Foundation Jono Forrest.  “Not only do the local committees help in providing students with financial support, but also emotional support as they embark on the challenges of leaving their home and community to pursue opportunities hundreds or thousands of kilometres away.  They face a different set of challenges to their metropolitan counterparts”

“Without the financial assistance CEFA provides, many students would never be able to pursue their career dreams”.

Since 1993 over $5 million in financial support has been provided to disadvantaged rural and regional students.

“These figures are outstanding, particularly as CEFA is funded through generous private and corporate philanthropy and receives no government grant funding” said Jono.

We congratulate the Country Education Foundation on the wonderful contribution they make to our regional young people and we are so very proud to be involved with this foundation.
