Boyce Raises Record Amount for Burns Survivors

26 August 2013

It was a case of ‘country spirit’ triumphing in more ways than one when the Boyce team turned out for this year’s annual City2Surf race.

We managed to not only field a team of more than 80 runners but also, thanks to your generous support, snared a top 5 finish in the list of ‘top team fundraisers’, raising a staggering $33,500 for the Burns Support Foundation.

“Not a bad effort for a team from the bush”, declared managing director, Bernard Kennedy.

“The generosity of country people is well known but I think the support and enthusiasm we received this year even surprised us.”

Boyce has competed in the City2Surf for the past seven years and each year has come up with novel fundraising ideas.

Record funds raised for burns victims and families

Record funds raised for burns victims and families

1 September 2012

Boyce fielded a record 60-strong team in last month’s City2Surf Challenge and with the generous support of our clients, colleagues, family and friends the final fundraising tally topped a massive $28,000.

This year the Boyce team elected to support the Burns Support Foundation (BSF), a non-profit organisation that provides assistance and support to burns victims and their families. All of the work they do is carried out by volunteers, without any government support.

There was a special motivation behind the huge fundraising effort this year as Cooma director, Julie Schofield, was a burns victim as a child.

Supporting our communities

Supporting our communities

23 July 2012

The Boyce Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program was established in 2010 to encourage directors and team members to formalise our commitment to ensuring a positive impact on the communities in which we work and live.

The CSR program is very much driven by the Boyce team; all play a role in determining the direction of the program, the activities undertaken and the causes to support. This shared vision has enabled us to focus efforts in areas where we believe we can make a real and significant difference.

Since the inception of the program, the Boyce CSR Focus Group has been tracking the level of support the firm provides via donations to local charities and events, and through honorary accounting and audit activities for local community-based organisations. The combined level of support across both areas grew from $139,232 in 2010 to $150,706 in 2011. We expect the figures for 2012 (once collated) will continue the rising trend of the past two years.
