Boyce client named cotton grower of the year

11 August 2011

Congratulations to Boyce clients— Bill & Sue Willis, Ed & Maria Willis and Von Warner of “Bullamon Plains” Thallon, Queensland—who were awarded “Monsanto Cotton Grower of the Year” for 2011 at the recent Australian Cotton Industry Awards held in Narrabri.

Bullamon Plains is an outstanding farm enterprise that has been owned by the Willis family since 1928, with four generations of the family currently living on the property.

In the 2010-11 season, Bullamon Plains grew its largest ever cotton crop of 1,432 hectares, with an average yield of 11.1 bales per hectare.

Linda Mackellar, Director - Boyce Wagga Wagga has been working with the Willis family as their accountant for the past seven years.

"We at Boyce are extremely proud of the leading role the Willis Family are playing in the cotton industry in Australia," said Linda.

This award makes it two in a row for Boyce clients—last year, John Norman and Tony Taylor of Toobeah, Queensland were presented with the same award.

Well done to all.
