$100K Raised for Childhood Heart Disease

$100K Raised for Childhood Heart Disease

9 December 2013

Well done to Boyce Wagga Director Simon Sellars and his fellow cyclists who participated in the recent ride to raise awareness of Childhood Heart Disease (CHD).

A team of twenty cyclists set off on Wednesday 20 November from Wagga Wagga for five solid days of riding during which they traversed 680 kilometres and climbed 9,000 metres across the NSW Snowy Mountains.

This was the second year that the ride has been held.  In a fantastic effort the twenty cyclists and their five member support crew not only managed to tame the mountains, but in doing so raised more than $100,000 to help HeartKids NSW continue to provide family support, fund research and lobby government to assist children living with CHD.

Boyce is proud to be a sponsor of this wonderful initiative.

Facts About Heartkids

  • 6 babies will be born today in Australia with heart disease.
  • 4 children will die this week due to heart disease.
  • CHD kills twice as many children than childhood cancer.

Childhood Heart Disease affects so many of our precious little ones and many young adults. HeartKids helps to raise funds that contribute to research into the treatment and hopefully one day the prevention of this insidious disease.
